In the fast-paced life that we all now tend to live we often forget about ourselves. We get so caught up in the rat race taking time out is just not that important, when it really should be. So how can we make simple changes to change this? Today I’m talking about how to Take Care Of Yourself.
Take Care Of Yourself
Find A New Hobby
Hobbies don’t always have to be majorly time-consuming or something that takes you away from home. I for one started my 1st blog as a hobby and it has now turned into a job. That aside I have made a pact with myself that this year I’m going to get back into reading more. This was something that I loved for many years. I was that book worn that just couldn’t put their novel down in case they missed the next gripping scene. Ther are so many other options out there and there is something for everyone. I have one friend who knits, one who does needlework, my hubby has taken up photography and another friend who goes to the gym as she adores the adrenaline rush. It’s often a good idea to check out which courses your local college has to offer. Most offer a great variety of hobbies for people of all ages plus it’s a great way to get to know new people.
Zoning out is a wonderful way to clear the head. There is an abundance of meditation apps on the market now which are free to use. These can be a wonderful source of clearing the head and creating focus. I for one use these forgetting to sleep at night and distancing myself from the chaos of earlier in the day.
Pamper nights are fantastic and they don’t just have to be for ladies. Take a long soak in the bath with a mask on. Curl up in bed with Netflix and watch a movie with a big mug of hot chocolate and some popcorn.
For me when I feel sluggish I always opt for the carb filled foods to try and make myself feel better. When in fact it gives the opposite effect. Try and keep a good variety of healthy snacks in the fridge and in the cupboard to grab when your hungry and wanting a food hit. I always have a bar of dark chocolate in the fridge as well for those times when I need that chocolate boost.
Go For Walk/Gym
I have started back at the gym to try and shift the lbs but also as a way to look after my own health. You don’t need to join the gym to get fit. You could also go for a lovely walk, do yoga at home or even cycle. There are so many options out there now for those that want to get up and get active. Youtube is also a great source of videos to use at home 🙂
What do you do to look after yourself?
